HSE Students Won the August Möbius Contest

The Faculty of Mathematics congratulates Lev Sukhanov, second-year master’s student, on winning first prize in the August Möbius Contest 2014 in the ‘Undergraduates and Graduates’ category, and Artur Tomberg on first prize in the ‘Undergraduates’ category.

About the contest:

The August Möbius Contest was founded in 1997 to provide financial support to Russian undergraduate and graduate students as well as authors of the best works in mathematics. The aim of the contest is to help young mathematicians carry out scientific research in Russia.

The contest is funded and organized by Möbius Contest, a nonprofit foundation for the support of young scientists, together with the Independent University of Moscow (IUM).

Participants of the Contest are full-time undergraduate or graduate students of any Russian university (also, full-time graduate students of research institutions). Each participant submits an independent work in mathematics (or mathematically rigorous work in mathematical physics).

Winners of the contest are awarded a monthly grant for 1 or 2 years.
