Abstract. In the talk we will discuss the spectral properties of the operator being the sum of a convolution operator and multiplication by potential. Assuming that the potential is bounded and vanishes at infinity, and the operator is symmetric, we will describe the essential spectrum of this operator and give sufficient conditions for the presence of non-trivial discrete spectrum and infinite series of points of the discrete spectrum.
