The Faculty of Mathematics congratulates Igor Netay who successfully defended the dissertation "Syzygies for some Segre and Veronese embeddings" and reached the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences on the 28th of January, 2014 at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems.
The Board is very much impressed by the current state of academic affairs at the Department. Within 5 years of its creation, the HSE has become the leading Russian institution of higher learning in pure mathematics.
On July 10, 2013, HSE Rector, Yaroslav Kuzminov, took part in a press conference on the results of the competition for government support for leading Russian HEIs to enter the world’s top 100 universities.
